Mindful Minute – Presence Over Position
Leadership is often associated with position. With titles. With authority. With responsibility.
But what people remember most is not position — it is presence.
A leader who is fully present in a conversation. One who listens without distraction. One who gives their attention without rushing. That’s what they remember.
Presence communicates something powerful:
You matter!
In fast-moving environments, it is easy to move from meeting to meeting, and decision to decision, without truly engaging.
But people notice the difference. When leaders are present, trust deepens and communication improves. Then small issues are often addressed before they become larger ones.
Position may give you a seat at the table, but Presence determines the impact you have when you’re there.
Reflection:
Where could being more fully present change the outcome of a conversation this week?
