Mindful Minute – Trust is Built in Small Moments

Trust is rarely built in grand gestures.

It is built in small, often unnoticed moments, such as:

A leader following through on a promise, taking time to listen when it would be easier to move on and responding with patience instead of frustration.

These moments may feel minor in isolation. But over time, they accumulate and people begin to notice consistency, they begin to feel safe, and slowly, trust takes root.

In healthcare environments, where pressure is constant and decisions carry weight, trust becomes the foundation that everything else depends on.

Without it, communication breaks down. With it, teams become aligned, resilient, and honest.
Trust is not declared, it is demonstrated – one moment at a time.

Reflection:
What small action today could strengthen trust with someone on your team?
